Sweater with saddle shoulders and balloon sleeves with extra wide rib cuffs.
Somerville Sweater is named after the Scottish mathematician and astronomer Mary Somerville (1780-1872). During her time she was known as the queen of science.
The sweater has 10 cm ease, ballloon sleeves and 12 cm wide rib cuffs on the sleeves.
I am 162cm (5' 4") tall and my Somerville Sweater has a back length of 49 cm. It is knitted in VIP and silk mohair from Lana Gatto both in the colour 8876.
The gauge/tension is 25 stitches and 32 rows per 10 x 10 cm on 4 mm needles. I have a bust measurement og 91 cm (+ease) and I used 6 skeins of each yarn type.
The vest is knitted top down. The pattern is unique and calculated to fit your measurements. The pattern is in English and will be sent as a pdf file to your e-mail address.
