Strikkeblues X AlmaKnit

When I got the yarn  - Merino/Yak and Algasoie from the French Plassard - home for my cardigan from AlmaKnit, I immediately thought of the many summers I have spent in Paris, especially of the late evening trips home from restaurants and bars where you walk slowly through the streets as the air cools down. This is why it was important that the cardigan could be part of my summer wardrobe as well as winter.

 

I have chosen a length of 65 cm and a positive ease of approx. 20 cm as well as wide sleeves with no decreases - all this to give the cardigan that oversized look that works both with jeans and summer dresses.The spacious sleeves give room to most tops - including those with more voluminous shoulder and sleeve details. The cardigan is a classical raglan cardigan with 2 raglan stitches and a deep v-neck which looks very nice both closed and left open.

 

I have used 9 skeins of Merino/Yak and 5 skeins of Algasoie. I have knitted in double knit on all hems and cast off using Italian cast off to get a slightly thicker edge which looks great with the gauge (tension) of 16 stitches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm (approx. 4 x 4 inches). 

 

The caridgan has been tested and approved for the Danish summer evenings and I look forward to using it with jeans and a t-shirt in the autumn.
