Light and airy cardigan with saddle shoulders, 3/4 sleeves, 12 cm ease and no buttons.
Germain Cardigan is named after the French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Sophie Germain (1776-1831). Her primary work was in number theory and she lends her name to the Sophie Germain primes. Today these are used in cryptography and are used to generate pseudo-random numbers.
The gauge/tension is 15 stitches x 19 rows per 10 x 10 cm on 7 mm needles. It is knitted in 2 threads of Algasoie from the French Plassard. The big needles and the fluffy yarn gives a very airy result - which works up very fast.
For a bust size of 91 cm (+ease) 6 skeins of yarn were used.
The cardigan is knitted top down. The pattern is unique and calculated to fit your measurements. The pattern is in English and will be sent as a pdf file to your e-mail.
