Herschel Vest
When you click buy then you will be send to the pattern builder webapp. All the features will have been selected for this design and you just need to input your measurements. You can also choose to adjust the design as you want.
The Herschel Vest has a very deep v-neck. This makes the vest perfect over a shirt where you want to show off details in the front. The vest has an ease of 7 cm.
The vest is named after Caroline Herschel (1750-1848) - astronomer and the first woman to be paid for her research work.
I have knitted my Hercshel Vest in one thread of Arwetta from Filcolana (210m/50g) with one thread of Tilia from Filcolana (210m/25g). The pictured vest is knitted in the colour Red Squirrel (352) in both yarns.
The Herschel Vest has a gauge (tension) of 20 stitches x 26 rows per 10 x 10 cm (approx. 4 x 4 inches) on 5 mm needles (rib on 4 mm). I used approx. 2.5 skeins of each yarn for a bust of 91 cm (+5 cm ease).
The vest is knitted top down. The pattern is unique and calculated to fit your measurements. The pattern is in English and will be sent as a pdf file to your e-mail.
